hello

My name is Jean Paul. I use he/him pronouns, and I am a graphic designer based in Boston. I recently graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and received a BFA in Communication Design. I’ve previously worked as a designer and researcher at Agncy Design Inc. 

 

As a communication designer, I enjoy thinking about design—specifically brand identity work—as a language. Much like languages, design requires constraints and rules that provide us with a playing field in which we can create, play, and communicate ideas. My identity as a Puerto Rican living on the American mainland constantly finds its mark in my work. I’m curious about how design and typography can be used to explore one’s identity, whether that is through the lenses of language or culture. With that in mind, I strive to use design to better understand my own experience.
